Garden Green

From my own tomato vine, some small tomatoes have ripened and we used them in a salad today.  My first of the season!  Of course I bought this pot last month when it had alot of tiny green babies and a bunch more flowers.  In a pot with a trellis.  How easy is that?  They were very yummy.  I don't care how red the store tomatoes are, they still don't taste the way a home grown one does!

Big Win!

My husband won a jackpot recently on his favorite Monopoly slot.  A thirty cent bet for $430!  He hit a bonus and free spins to go around the board.  All aboard the money train!

Trees and Bluebells

My recent Watercolor effort.  It's a practice piece from a step by step instruction book.  I liked the textured look on the tree trunks achieved by building up alot of dry brushing.  Not too bad for my first painting in a really long time!

Box Bags

Fun cube shaped bags to make.  This one has silk fabric painted with Shiva oilsticks over rubbing plates.  Wrist straps were put thru a wooden ball slide so that the slide moves to open the purse and clamps down to keep everything closed and secure.  Cute for evenings out.  Yeah, I have alot of those!!

I think I'll make one in denim next.

First Iris Bloom

A couple weeks ago I took this picture of a new Iris to bloom in my garden.  The peachy ones are coming up too.  I planted mini gladiolas this year and the leaves are up but no stalks yet.  I think they bloom in June.  I love this color but don't recall planting it.  Lovely surprise!

Steampunk Debutante

Don't even ask me what that means.  It is the name of a line of scrapbook paper that I love for its funky designs.  I made a book with the paper.  Love the colors.  Lots of imagery.  Take a look!

Encaustics - Love 'em!

I gave myself a gift of encaustic (wax) paints for last month's birthday.  They are great to work with, fun to mix colors and embed things into my canvas, like papers or flowers.  This photo is my first palette on a presto griddle with aluminum foil to protect it - we still like to use it for pancakes!  So much fun.  Will post more samples if I can just remember to take some pix!
